Body-Aware Surveillance Systems (BASS) is the name of a series of cost-efficient and easy-to-use surveillance systems that detect body-movements near a monitored object or area. BASS‘ patented technology generates an electromagnetic field in and around the monitored object or area and any movement of a body near this field is detected and accordingly classified. When BASS detects a moving body, an awareness signal is being generated in relation to how severe the detected movement is. Depending on the application, the awareness signal can be used to generate a local alarm and/or the signal can be transmitted via a wired or wireless link to a centralized surveillance system.
